YEAR-END CLOSING — SWISS SÀRL AND SA

Your year-end closing, done.

We close the financial year and produce your company's annual accounts: balance sheet, income statement and notes to the accounts, in the form the Code of Obligations (CO) requires. For Swiss Sàrl (limited liability companies) and SA (companies limited by shares).

What a year-end closing includes

→Taking over and checking the entries for the year.
→Accruals, provisions and depreciation.
→Reconciliations and supporting evidence for balances.
→Balance sheet, income statement and notes to the accounts.
→Documents for the general meeting.
→Filing with the tax authorities.

The year-end closing is the most common way in

A year to close, and no one to close it.

This is often the moment a company calls us for the first time: the accounting firm has gone, the in-house bookkeeper too, or the year was kept without anyone checking where it was heading.

We take the file in the state it is in. A year kept properly closes quickly. A year that has to be rebuilt takes the time it takes to rebuild it — we give you the order of magnitude before we start, never after.

After the closing

Many companies stop there and come back the following year. That is a perfectly workable form of engagement: you send us your documents at the deadline, and we produce your accounts and your returns.

Others prefer that nothing piles up and move to ongoing bookkeeping. The hourly rate is the same either way.

Common questions

How long is there to close a financial year?

The annual accounts must be approved by the general meeting within six months of the closing date, under the Code of Obligations. Cantonal tax deadlines are separate and can be extended on request.

Can you close a year we have kept ourselves?

Yes. We check the entries, correct what needs correcting and produce the accounts. It is a common case.

What if several years are outstanding?

We take them on in order. The work is billed on time spent and we give you an estimate before we start.
